thehorse 221 #1 Posted February 12, 2014 I have a 2005 classic (315) with I believe 101hrs on it. 42rd deck. This is MINT in every way. I bought it for my skinny, 11 year old to mow and blow with. Well, there's no way he can lift the attachments. 5ft 1in 69 lbs is not going to cut it! I am looking for a very nice, realitevly low hr. Machine with hydro. So he can work it. To be honest the classic is so nice it should be relegated to parade duty. I'm open to trade offers, but I will be very picky. I can always wait a couple years until he is big enough to operate it. http://s737.photobucket.com/user/LenHaduck/media/9111a582683e4fb4b18993a111c5c9df.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4 Thanks Len
smoreau 658 #2 Posted February 12, 2014 Put a electric lift on it
dcrage 630 #3 Posted February 12, 2014 You sure he can't lift the deck with two hands -- I sure it is a task for him, but you really don't need to raise and lower the deck very much Don't have a blower, but supposedly a properly installed lift assist spring makes that a much easier task That really is a nice tractor you have there
thehorse 221 #4 Posted February 13, 2014 The blower with a spring assist is still pretty heavy. Not worried so much about the deck?.i agree. Don't have to lift Deck to much. I could try 2 springs and add a little weight to keep it down on ground. Thanks all
sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted February 13, 2014 Just throwing this out there - I have a factory electric lift kit that I haven't got around to posting for sale yet.
thehorse 221 #6 Posted February 13, 2014 Would the factory lift be able to raise the blower? I am not famaliar with electric lift at all.
smoreau 658 #7 Posted February 13, 2014 Yes it will lift the blower
sorekiwi 761 #8 Posted February 13, 2014 I never had a blower on that tractor, but I would think that it wouldn't even feel the weight of the blower. There is pics of my lift installed on the tractor (a 518) in the old gallery.
thehorse 221 #9 Posted February 13, 2014 I would definitely consider the lift. I DONT want to get rid of tractor and that would be a good option!
sorekiwi 761 #10 Posted February 13, 2014 Here is the link to the manual (and installation instructions): PM me if you want more photo's or info.

rexman72 210 #12 Posted February 21, 2014 the electric lift I had lifted a two stage blower that weighed almost 400 pounds
thehorse 221 #13 Posted February 21, 2014 Ok...cool...now for the needle in the hey stack?.finding a complete kit...... Or....just put the plow on his 4 wheeler and leave the classic unmolested. I really hate to even work it...but...that's what it was bought for.
JaysHorse 287 #14 Posted March 13, 2014 I have an electric lift on my 518 and it lifts my single stage no prob. Little slow but does the job. Or I got a nice hydro Deere that I may be parting ways with. Has an 18hp kohler with 42" deck. About 150hrs.
