I want something that kind of resembles a pulling tire, like the Tru Powers. click below: http://www.gemplers.com/product/3551/23x85...r-Carlisle-Tire
bell 11 #2 Posted September 10, 2008 I'm of no help, but I am GLAD you asked this.... I was wondering the same thing... Does anybody have a pic of 10.50" wide tires on a wheel that originally had 8.50" tires? I would like to see how much the sidewall "bulges".... Thanks, JB
Deere Hunter 54 #3 Posted September 10, 2008 here is a pic of my C160 with 23x10.50's on it. Only pic I could find right now of it. Hopefully gives you a little idea.
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted September 10, 2008 These are turf tires but they are 24x12x12 on 8.5 rims from a 520, and the same fenders you have.
WH854 45 #5 Posted September 10, 2008 I think the only difference between a23X8.50 X12 and a 23X10.50X12 is the width of the tread,or how much tire touches the ground. Thats my 2 cents. Chas From Butler Pa :banghead:
bell 11 #6 Posted September 10, 2008 Looks great fellas.... Thanks! BTW, what width are the original wheels on a 1045?
Brian1045 28 #7 Posted September 10, 2008 Rim width of the 1045 is 7"
bell 11 #8 Posted September 10, 2008 Original size of the 1045 is 23x8.50x12 But, what is the width of the wheels?

kpinnc 14,128 #12 Posted September 10, 2008 My 310 has 10.50 turfs mounted on standard 7.5 inch rims. I tried Carlisle ag tires first, of the same width, but they had much more bulge at the sidewall. I guess the cleats are much stiffer than a turf setup, so all of the required flex to fit on a narrow rim is forced onto the sidewalls. Anyway, here's what the turfs look like: Kevin
catman81056 3 #13 Posted September 10, 2008 These are 23X10.5-12's on my 1267. The only thing I don't care for is that I have some wear in the deck attachment and when you turn right the left side deck wheel rubs on the side wall of the tire. Its just another thing to fix when the time comes.
Brian1045 28 #14 Posted September 10, 2008 I may stay with the 8.50's ...I'm thinking the 10.50's may look to wide or balloony, and there is the deck issue that catman pointed out. Thanks for the replies! brian1045
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #15 Posted September 11, 2008 Can I inquire as to what you are tryin gto accomplish ? :USA:
Brian1045 28 #16 Posted September 11, 2008 Just wanting to make the WH a little more stealthy looking. I don't want to get stuck with $100 worth of tires that I may not be able to use or hate the way they look.. :banghead:
htopjimmy26 3 #17 Posted September 11, 2008 I purchased 23x10.5x12 duro 4ply ags on 8.5 inch wide wheels with proper 2.5 in offset from Kart-wheels ebay store for 250.00? I think. I will try to post a pic, another plus or minus is valve stem is on out side of wheel. Attached Image
Curmudgeon 28 #18 Posted September 12, 2008 I run 24x12x12 turfs on 7" wide wheels. While the only pictures I have of them are on wider wheels, I remounted them on the narrower ones for the additional side wall flex and inherent smoother ride.
Brian1045 28 #19 Posted September 20, 2008 Well, I bought 23/8.50-12's lug tires today. But when I got home I noticed that the new 23"lugs I bought are almost 2" shorter than my 23" turfs! I'm hoping that is just because they are deflated...but so are my turfs Should have I bought 24" to get close to the height of my turfs or will they "swell" up where they need be? Total height is like 19" for the lugs and for the turfs they are like 21"...deflated. I want something pretty close to my fender wells like before. BTW...Both types of tires are Carliles. Sarge 3,464 #20 Posted September 22, 2008 I just put a set of ag's all the way around , 4.80-8 fronts , 23x8.50x12 rears . The rears appeared to be a lot shorter until aired up , they are 4 ply so I run 30psi in them (for now) and they actually ride pretty well with the weights . Like the way they bite, but gotta get front weights so it will steer uphill and not lift the nose like it did yesterday mowing .... Sarge
Curmudgeon 28 #21 Posted September 22, 2008 Tire sizes vary tremendously from manufacturer to manufacturer, or within the same manufacturer. A 23" tire might be 22" or it might be 24" tall. It's a number size, not an actual measurement. Some 26" tires will fit under the fenders too, I had to raise them a full inch on Tall Girl to them in. If you go to http://www.carlisletire.com/ and look at some of the charts, you'll see actual dimensions for the tires, and they vary widely even within Carlisle.
