leeave96 490 #1 Posted February 10, 2014 My 520H tractors with the swept forward axle and 1 inch spindles have the factory 16 x 7.5 x 8 size tires and I need to replace one set this year. Any reason why I can't or shouldn't use a 16 x 6.5 x 8 inch tire - which is IMHO more of a standard tire, easier to find and lower $$'s involved. Any concerns with performance, rim to tire fit-up or implement fallout from changing to the 16 x 6.5 x 8 tire? Thanks!!!!!!!!! Bill
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #2 Posted February 10, 2014 Come on Bill, get up off some of that rusty money you got and buy some real tires!!!
cleat 7,257 #3 Posted February 10, 2014 I just bought 2 new tires for my 520. 2 ply carlisle 16X7.5-8 turfs for $36.00 each in Canadian funds. Tractor originally only had 2 ply so I think they will be fine. FWIW Carlisle tires are now made in China. I also bought tubes because the rims are badly pitted right in the bead seal area and they had tubes when I removed the tires. Tubes were $12.00 each. Now if only I can find a good price on the rears. Thanks, Cleat
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted February 10, 2014 Half of the 520's I have owned had 16x6.5x8 tires on them, they fit fine
AMC RULES 37,196 #5 Posted February 10, 2014 I wonder if this is the reason someone just posted about all the trouble they had getting new tires to seat on the rim. I just bought 2 new...FWIW Carlisle tires are now made in China.

varosd 1,185 #7 Posted February 10, 2014 My 520 with the standard axle and no reduction steering uses the smaller front (6.5) and rear (9.5) tires. Cleat The early 520's had the smaller 6.5 tires. the 520-HC had the 7.5's and the 10.5's on the rears
