slammer302 2,156 #1 Posted February 9, 2014 I'm in the process of rebuilding a k341 is the crank end play is .13 to .14 thousands is this to much I take one shim out then its to tight?
joel_400 59 #2 Posted February 9, 2014 Well the manual says between .003 and .020. Are you at .13/.14 or .013/.014? If youre at .013/.014 I would say you are within spec. You probably could remove one thin shim if you wanted and still be within spec but its up to you at that point. Hope this helps. Joel
rmaynard 16,363 #3 Posted February 9, 2014 I have always tried to keep mine at about .012. There is nothing wrong with .013/.
Fordiesel69 271 #4 Posted February 10, 2014 Just fine if old side bearings are used. If new ones are used, it may make sense to make it a tad tighter as they will loosen up at first. At least the china ones..........
