mowerman1193 42 #1 Posted February 5, 2014 Out cleaning the drive today and noticed that I was getting a little steam coming from a bearing on the shaft near where the pulley is. It is not really too loud or anything yet.. Any way I could get some grease in there to make her last me until spring? Bearing seems good enough yet.. just I know it is dry of grease if it is getting hot.. I plan to go through the thing this summer in the "Warmer" weather.. that is if we get any warmer weather, LOL Anyway, any tips to baby this through the rest of the winter? Guess I could always put my blade back on but not much of anywhere to pile it up.. which is partly why I put the blower on to begin with.. Kevin
can whlvr 994 #2 Posted February 6, 2014 I would pump a bunch of oil around it and spin it,you will have to keep your eye on it,i had this happen this year, the bearing seized while throwing snow, wrecked the shaft,so then the drive gear wouldn't come off,had to cut it off, turned out to be a big pain
mowerman1193 42 #3 Posted February 7, 2014 Thanks for the tip, I actually did do this last night.. Really hoping I won't need to use it much more this year if at all, LOL ... I like the snow and playing on the tractors but I think I have had plenty of seat time this season to last a few years, LOL
