persof 14 #1 Posted February 2, 2014 I have a 312-8 with a Kohler magnum 12HP engine that uses a Walbro carburetor. Please see my attached pic and let me know which is the high-speed needle and which is the low-speed needle. #1 on obviously the idle speed. The Kohler manual only shows the somewhat different Kohler carb. Thanks Francis

rmaynard 16,221 #4 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Number 1 is the idle speed adjustment, and number 2 is the low speed adjustment, 3 is the main jet Edited February 2, 2014 by rmaynard
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #5 Posted February 2, 2014 Bob Maynard is correct. You may need to remove both the high speed and low speed needles and clean them, plus take a can of spray brake cleaner and spray down in the passageways. Not the whole can, just a little bit. oaktown1987 82 #7 Posted February 4, 2014 All walbro carbs that came on magnums have fixed main jets aka high idle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They did that for emission purposes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The k series had Carter's and kohlers later kohler bought rights to carter carbs for the k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tunahead72 2,536 #8 Posted February 10, 2014 Francis, Look around in the Manuals section for a different Kohler manual. You should be able to find one that shows both the Kohler and the Walbro carbs. I know there's an owner's manual for the K-series engines that shows them all, and gives instructions for adjusting them. I'll check back later and give you a direct link if you don't find one by then.
