Magnum 12 with Walbro carb

Recommended Posts

persof

I have a 312-8 with a Kohler magnum 12HP engine that uses a Walbro carburetor.  Please see my attached pic and let me know which is the high-speed needle and which is the low-speed needle.  #1 on obviously the idle speed.  The Kohler manual only shows the somewhat different Kohler carb.

Thanks

Francis

Number 1 is the idle speed adjustment, and number 2 is the low speed adjustment, 3 is the main jet

Bob Maynard is correct. You may need to remove both the high speed and low speed needles and clean them, plus take a can of spray brake cleaner and spray down in the passageways. Not the whole can, just a little bit.

Francis,

Look around in the Manuals section for a different Kohler manual.  You should be able to find one that shows both the Kohler and the Walbro carbs.  I know there's an owner's manual for the K-series engines that shows them all, and gives instructions for adjusting them.  I'll check back later and give you a direct link if you don't find one by then.
