Fabricating Steering Parts - Can't Find Original Post

I am pretty sure I remember a thread several years ago where someone here on RS documented their fabrication of new Upper and Lower Steering Shafts like, or similar to, the ones on my B-series.

I've searched high and low, but have had no luck finding the thread.     Any help would be appreciated.

Your not thinking about buckrancher's stainless steel fabrication are you?

Thanks for the suggestion Bob.  I thought maybe you had it, but unfortunately that's not it.  No, this was a "traditional" upper and lower steering shaft like you would find on a B/C series.  I know it was here somewhere although I'm coming up blank on search terms.  Even tried searching the site with Google.

 

Ah well...I'll keep looking.  Thanks again.

kelly had a thread on fixing up a 314 he had. he fabricated replacement steering parts......

Thanks Martin, that's closer to what I'm looking for.  Although call me crazy, but I still seem to remember a thread in which the author ordered new gears from some place like McMaster-Carr...even a larger one for the lower steering shaft, then cut it down to the proper shape and welded them all up.

 

Or maybe I'm just getting old and senile....
