C-85 Questions

Got a few quick questions regarding the C-85 Wheelhorse tractors.

 

1.  Did all of these tractors have 8 speed/hi-lo trannys?

 

2.  Did all of these tractors have the 8 pinion rear end and 1-1/8 rear axles?

 

3.  Other than style - any mechanical difference between the C-81, C-85 and 308-8?

 

4.  I gather all had Kohler engines, either K series or Magnum?

 

5.  If one were to repower with a 12 or 14 hp engine, the tractor would be essentially a C-125 or a C-145?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Wow!  That was FAST!!!!!!!!   

 

I know that my old C-111 tractors were 8 pinion trannys and 1-1/8 axles, but back then I wasn't crazy enough to consider that they were great candidates for a repower - just like a C-85.  Another avenue to be explored...

Van - I've been good, as far as not encouraging the wrath of my Wife/Boss - LOL!!!  I resisted a chance on a C-85 and instead bought a couple of dust caps for one of my 520H tractor front rims...

 

Nothing new to report - but there's always tomorrow...
