how to run throttle and choke cables

Recommended Posts

zanepetty

Does anyone have any good pictures of where the throttle and choke cable goes on my 753? I'm thinking one runs over the head and the other goes under the engine shround but I can't remember for sure. Any pics or help is appreciated. Also does the little hooked spring on the govenor arm go through the notch on this disc? Thanks in advance.

Have you down loaded your engine manual Zane?

Lots of detailed info in there that will help you.   :handgestures-thumbsup:

Yes I have that but the images are a little different and I don't remember the throttle cable booking up to the disc..maybe I just don't remember it but I think both cables went to the carb and I don't really remember where the cables were routed. And I don't have the the piece with the throttle bracket on it..is there an alternate way of booking up the cables?

Thanks a bunch for that. So do I need the throttle bracket? It doesn't seem like it does anything?

Not sure what you mean by "throttle bracket "   :confusion-shrug:

There is a bracket that secures the end of the throttle cable housing / the throttle cable "wire end" connects to the gov arm / there is a solid rod going from the top of the gov arm to the carb linkage :handgestures-salute:

That's just what they called it in the manual it goes on the shaft behind the disc..

OK Zane, I look at my k181 manual and YES,  you will need that "throttle bracket"   /   On pg 17  figure 5-4 & 5-5 shows how it is connected & how to adj once connected :handgestures-thumbupright:

I do not see that bracket in your pic above.   :confusion-shrug:   I hope you didn't misplace it :eusa-think:

I have a WH 300 series with a Kohler Magnum 10 engine and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the choke cable and linkage set so it will work. The numbers on the engine label  are worn off the, so I cannot give anyone that information. Does anyone have a picture or can you head me in the right direction.

My arm for the linkage assembly is set at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock if that helps. There seems to be several different linkage rods for this engine.

      Thanks

      Hey all!

Replacing the drive belt on my 252-h. Anyone know the torque specification for the center screw when I put this pto clutch back on? I know it was on there tight it took a minute for the impact to break it loose. Thanks!
