dandan111 31 #1 Posted January 20, 2014 My snow blade is warped and the square tube across bottom is bent to sh**. You guys have this problem? It's a 48inch on a 314 WH. I have taken care of this tractor but my blade can't take it. I'm going to take it to the weld shop in the spring.
smoreau 658 #2 Posted January 20, 2014 First take the head off, then wrap a chain from one side to the other. use a car jack between the blade and the chain and it will straiten up the blade. I have bent mine more times then i would like to talk about But this is how I have fixed mine. Learned how to do it from Kelly
dandan111 31 #3 Posted January 20, 2014 Sounds good. I was thinking about having heavier steel tube put on the bottom. It would add weight though and maybe cause the rest of the blade problems.
smoreau 658 #4 Posted January 20, 2014 if one side is worse then the other, just move the jack to that side and it will put more pressure to that side.
AMC RULES 37,196 #5 Posted January 20, 2014 Sould be easy to beef up the blade perimeter with 1x2" box tubing.
dandan111 31 #6 Posted January 20, 2014 Just across the bottom AMC? That factory piece on there now looks like C channel spot welded.

Probably an impossible question to answer (like how many licks to get to the center of a tootsie-pop). Mike...........
smoreau 658 #8 Posted January 20, 2014 I got 3 seasons on my 48" and straitened in the spring every year. The last time I welded up a crack in the c channel. Know that I have the V-blade I haven't used that blade. I have straitened out the bottom ware edge on the V-blade twice this year though. The Ice this year has been BAD for blades. Snow blower has had no problems though.
