wallfish 18,154 #2 Posted January 19, 2014 I would suggest you buy a set of plans. It will be minimum cost compared to doing things twice and saves a bunch of time. PF engineering plans will give you a complete list of materials and exactly what parts to buy and where to get them. Takes out most of the guess work and a proven design but you can modify or tweak them to fit your needs. You will need to design the sub-frame for your tractor which isn't to difficult. If you want to go on your own there is a free set here in the manuals section but it's pretty basic. I can also email you those plans. Not sure where you are in ME but I have a blade that was used on my FEL that I don't use any more. I'm headed to Norway and Portland ME for work on Monday if you're interested in it. dodgemike 52 #6 Posted January 19, 2014 Let me know the direction you Head. I want to build a FEL for My C 121. I also looked at the PF Plans. I was pretty impressed the Guy didnt have a big fab shop. Just basic tools and a small MIG Welder. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk
TravelinJavelin 620 #7 Posted January 19, 2014 my friend built a loader plow set up on his kabota and used 3/16" tubing and I know that's what were going to use for the subframing I just really need to figure out what were going to use use for pumps and rams I know I want double acting so I can have down pressure to scrape ice with on the driveway or other jobs als got a greenhouse project for the wife later in spring and raised garden beds too, were going to try micro farming so i'll have all kinds of chores around the house for the bucket loader

boovuc 1,090 #9 Posted January 19, 2014 If you look at the Kwikway manual for their loader on C-series, (300-400 & 500 series), page 25 shows the subframe assembly and how they have their loader attach. Link is here: The Ark manuals don't show the subframe on their loaders.
Forest Road 594 #10 Posted January 25, 2014 I have a kwik way mounted to a 522 Xi. The hydraulics aren't that big. Maybe 2" max. I believe the pump is only 6gpm and pressure is turned down at the controls. It lifts anything I ask of it. The front end on Xi tractors has 1" spindles. And the power steering makes life enjoyable while working. I run 500lbs in the ballast box which helps greatly with traction. I have to agree w Wallfish. Unless you have extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems ave yourself a lot of time and $$$ and go w the plans. You can always make mods to the plans. Good luck.
