HorseWhisperer 243 #1 Posted January 16, 2014 In my travels I have noticed that the lift levers on tractors 65 through say 73 occasionally have different welded joints.Where the round lever runs into the square stock at the bottom isn't always straight. It seems to either be straight or swept back a bit but not a typical angle some being maybe 10-13 degrees most and everything in between straight.Do you suppose this was intentional?I can't pin it on any certain model, rhyme or reason.I just got a 1055 that was swept back a lot.Fast forward on an 856 and the lever is straight.I always notice the weld to see if a repair was done but they weren't pretty from South Bend,Any body with a welder could replicate. What are your thoughts? smoreau 658 #2 Posted January 16, 2014 I have noticed that on a lot of tractors over the years. At first I thought they were bent, but on further inspection they were made that way for some reason.
jeremi3210 742 #3 Posted January 16, 2014 Ive got a 1257 and the lever is swept back. If it was straight it would hit the starter generator guard when it is all the way down. A friend of mine has a raider 12 his lever isnt swept back as much but that doest have a starter gen.

Valid point about hitting the starter gen guard.I have a commando 8 and the lever is straight, and it hits the guard!
