tburkes2323 1 #1 Posted January 2, 2014 Hi everyone! I'm brand new to the site, but judging by the many helpful forum posts I've already read, this is the place to be for technical help with Wheel Horse tractors. I'm having a bit of an issue with the choke system on my 314-8 model. Recently, the tractor was left outside and ice formed around the choke lever, causing it to stick. After heating up the area around the lever, I made one last attempt to pull it out. Unfortunately, the lever disconnected from the choke cable. Also, the plastic piece on top of the caburetor where the cable connects seems to have broken as well due to the force applied to it when the choke lever finally pulled. I'm having trouble finding a part number for this plastic piece in my manual, and I am fearful that this is going to end up costing me more money than I had originally anticipated. Has anyone else ever experienced this problem? I'm planning on attempting to fix the cable to lever connection with some JB Weld if at all possible. The little plastic rotating piece that connects to the choke seems to be beyond repair though. Thanks ahead of time for any consideration on this topic! PS: I'll upload pictures later if they're needed.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted January 2, 2014 The information you seek can probably be found in the carb reference manual: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1393-engine-kohler-carburetor-ref-manual-tp-2377epdf/
tburkes2323 1 #3 Posted January 3, 2014 Cool thanks! I ordered the choke repair kit, and it should be in within a couple days. Guess I'll just keep doin a manual choke until then!
