Charlie Smith 142 #1 Posted December 31, 2013 Hello All, Today I sat and got rather bored and my grandad called me up, he wanted help moving some things about in his workshop, whilst I was up there he showed me what he's been toying about with recently and he's been trying to make a Wheel Horse Clevis hitch, so I thought I'd look at his plans and try my self, now when you see this don't laugh! I know it's not the best but it's a trail run! I've got enough metal to make another when I get round to doing it, I've packed in for the day now but All that's left to do is weld to spacers and the drop pin at the back, it was fairly easy, we had a metal bender and bench drill and all the right tools it took about 3 hours, anyway here's some pictures for you guys! Started with a length of flat iron 34" long Then got to work bending it Then added the pin and the pick up bar Still needs a little playing with, but I like it! P.S Mark your 4x4 is getting rather popular, it popped up on my Facebook newsfeed a moment ago!

Anglo Traction 761 #7 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Good bit of metal bending there Charlie. Always enjoyed bending metal as far back as my School days. Had a terrific Metal Workshop at my Secondary School. Keep it up. Edited December 31, 2013 by Anglo Traction
wheeledhorseman 579 #8 Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks for sharing Charlie - once again you've shown us what you can do and, like your dump cart post, reminded me of just how much is on my WH 'to do' list that just doesn't seem to get to the top of the pile. When time permits I want to make one of these for my C-120 Auto, not that I'd probably ever use it but the tractor came with the lift cable in place and even the bracket for the spring just the hitch was missing. One day I'll get all these things done. Andy
