Need some info on RJ58 Pulleys

Recommended Posts

Guest fireman

Hey All,

I want to replace all the pulleys on my RJ. I don't think the transmission one I have is stock. I know that the one on the engine isn't because it had an 8hp with a 1 inch shaft. The idler I believe is original, but still want to replace it. If someone has the info or can measure their stock pulleys I would appreciate it. Inside diameter, outside diameter etc.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

I think they should be the same as you have on your Suburban 401. Not the exact same tranny... the RJ used the 5003 and the Suburban used the 5010... but I would think the pulley diameters would be the same.

The transmission pulley is the pretty much standard 1611. It's 4" with a 3/4" keyed bore and is offset somewhat. The engine pulley is 2 1/2" and the bore can vary as some of the shafts can be 5/8" but most are 3/4. :banghead: If you need the transmission pulley I have one new and a couple of good used ones :USA: Just send an email as per profile. Mike

Original tranny pulleys can be found on ebay once in a while... post a wanted add also here on RS.

You can also check with Joe Papke.

Your idler pulley is correct, so long as there is not chatter in the bearing you are good to go.

There is a transmission pulley on ebay right now under "wheel horse 702" for 22 bucks.

Last I checked Joe did not have any tranny pulleys but he may have a idler.
