cgambino1018 28 #1 Posted December 23, 2013 I have a 1989 312-8 speed. just got it off ebay.. started right up.. changed all the oils, and got new blades... one more thing to fix the brake petal is leaning all the way back to the foot rest. when i engage the pedal it does stop the horse. where should i look for the petal stop? Happy Holidays to all.. Chris
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,488 #2 Posted December 23, 2013 The pedal should come back and rest on the footrest. Is the footrest bent in that area? Garry
chevyaddict83 39 #3 Posted December 23, 2013 There is a roller pin that connects it. Is that broken? That happened on my 310. .20 cents later, ready to stop, lol Sent from my RCT6378W2 using Tapatalk
cgambino1018 28 #4 Posted December 23, 2013 yes the pedal is hitting the deck .. but it comes much further back than my 1990 312-8. link below has pic of the brake and the clutch. as you can see the clutch is 180 degrees from the floor but the brake is around 140ish degrees (leaning toward the seat) . if this is normal i will reassemble. http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv195/cgambino1018/brake_zps227914c3.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv195/cgambino1018/clutch_zps7139781b.jpg Thanks for the advice
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,488 #5 Posted December 23, 2013 I still think the footrest should stop it and it isn't. It should contact the footrest before it gets that far back. Garry
cgambino1018 28 #6 Posted December 23, 2013 just fixed the problem.. the foot rest was bent down in that spot.. bent it up and now its 180ish degrees from the floor.. many thanks to all.. happy holidays Chris
