gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,513 #2 Posted December 17, 2013 I think the original throttle cable number is 115392 and still available $47.60 at PartsTree but they came out with new ones. and 98-4329 is new throttle cable and still available for $55.53 at PartsTree. 99-3745 is a choke and throttle kit still available for $127.94 at PartsTree What is wrong with your cable? Shop around. Garry

doc724 925 #5 Posted December 17, 2013 Was the cable always this way or did it just start? For years, I would always wash my tractor in early November and invariably some water would get inside. If it did not freeze solid in the middle of the winter, it was a miracle. Many a time I had a light bulb hanging on the cable to thaw out the ice so I could plow. I finally relented and bought a new cable and the problem was fixed. Even with no ice, the metal core inside the cable would rust and the inner cable would bind. The new cables had a seal over the end where it attaches to the carb to limit any water getting down inside.
oldlineman 1,541 #6 Posted December 18, 2013 Its on my summer tractor and I was in the shed today and thought I would fire her up and let her warm up. Pushed the throttle cable and bent the wire inside. Straightened it but think it will want to bend there again. Will try more graphite and see what happens. Thanks for the info. TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #7 Posted December 18, 2013 Many "good" OPE dealers / small engine shops stock various diameters of the inner wire and outer cable housing. I would try replacing the inner wire first. It should only cost two or three dollars at the most. Here's a video of a quick & easy way to put the "Z" bend on the end of the cable:
