Theswampthing 8 #1 Posted December 17, 2013 So my plan was to pull the carb today so I could rebuild it and hopefully get it running well enough plow and haul for the winter. Well, I go out to start it up to run all gas out of the carb(I tried to start it last night and left the gas on, it's usually off), and now it has no spark. Disgusted, but I know how old machines are. Problem is, I have no garage to work on it at the moment, and I really kind of need this tractor for firewood duty at least. Thinking about a Predator 6.5 for this winter, and finding an original 8hp Kohler in the spring when I give it a good going over. Going out to mess with it a bit now, but other than a new engine, I don't know what to do at this point. Maybe it's something simple. What do you all think about the re power, and do you have any suggestions about the Techy? Not sure what kind of ignition it is, without taking it apart a bit. WH nut 553 #2 Posted December 17, 2013 I would try a new plug to get spark. Did the gas leak over night, or is it coming out the carb throat while starting. if out the throat it sounds like a stuck float and in maybe iced up. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
