How tight do you run your tire chains ? 312 8 with a two stage blower wheel and wieghts. would front wheel weights help?

wheel weights sorry for the typo.

as tight as possible, once you start driving around they will loosen up. I'm using rubber tire chains and I put the tractor on jack stands, deflate the tire and tighten, adjust the chain, tighten repeat repeat.

How well does the 12 hp handle the monster 2 stage?

That is what I thought been 20 years since I used chains.I'll let you know how it handles the 2 stage just got it amonth ago and the first snow is tonight. From what I've read i think taking it slow and easy it should be good. Let you know 2mrw.

got to plow today with the 867. put 3 1/2 gal of windshield washer fluid in each new 6x12 ags with tubes. no chains. I have a fairly level concrete drive way. there was about 3 inches of snow. I was amazed. wasn't the best test but tried to spin and did better then the turfs with chains & weights no fluid. I have chains ready if needed but looks like they will stay hanging in garage.

312 was good even with the stuff the plow piled up. The only problem was when i had to blow it in front of me for a while. I just pushed the clutch in and took it easy. more horsepower and maybe a lower 1st gear would help. Would not use less than 12 for a 2 stage. Sorry no pics no one out to take a few.

Yes deflate tighten then add your air. I was very impressed with my 312-8 this past weekend. Definitely works the 12 with a good 1" + layer of ice/ sleet on top of about 5"s of powder.
