1989520HC 13 #1 Posted December 14, 2013 I went to look at a 312 Hydro tonight. Tractor is very clean with a tall snow-blower. 623 hours on the clock. My question is will my mower deck and my mule drive from my 520-H fit the 312? I think the deck is a 48 inch. It may only be a 42 inch. Will the 12 H.P. run the deck ok? 1989520HC 13 #2 Posted December 14, 2013 Also would a 312 run a two stage snowblower?
JackC 617 #3 Posted December 14, 2013 The deck and mule drive will fit. Not sure about the power. It will run a 42 inch deck and probably run the 48 inch deck. I personally would want more hp to run the two stage blower but it may work. The hydraulic lift is helpful for the heavy two stage. The real clean machines are harder to find and worth paying up for. 1989520HC 13 #4 Posted December 14, 2013 The tractor is very nice and the guy wants $500 for everything....I figured its a good deal.
qd-16 14 #5 Posted December 14, 2013 Sounds like a deal with a 2 stage blower!
woodchuckfarmer 333 #6 Posted December 14, 2013 You better grab it , at that price
Sparky-(Admin) 23,158 #7 Posted December 14, 2013 Does the tractor have hydraulic lift or manual lift? 312-H or 312-A? Makes a difference, if its manual lift it has a weaker tranny that doesn't like to be worked hard. Mike........
1989520HC 13 #8 Posted December 14, 2013 Im not sure on the lift. I will check today. The tractor comes with a single stage blower. I have a mint two stage blower that I want to put on a tractor. That being said we have had so little snow the last few years im not sure why im even worried about it to be honest.
1989520HC 13 #9 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Are these tractors kinda rare? Tried to post a picture... Big Block Snow Blower.bmp Edited December 14, 2013 by 1989520HC
Sparky-(Admin) 23,158 #10 Posted December 14, 2013 If you mean the 312...nope, not rare....if you mean the v-8 powered walk behind...yes, very rare! Mike........
1989520HC 13 #11 Posted December 14, 2013 I was talking the 312...lol It has the power lift. Im on the fence for the same money I can buy a 1971 12HP Hydro with blower, deck, cab and a vac system or this 312 with 363 hours with a tall shoot blower. I would have to put my 42 inch deck from my 520. Both tractors are the same $$$$$$$$$
Tim 97 #12 Posted December 14, 2013 if you plan on using this tractor year round, I would take the 312 it this was just for blowing snow I would seriously consider the charger 12 and then sell the deck/bagger the tall chute blowers are better though you really do not have a bad problem
JackC 617 #13 Posted December 15, 2013 Personally, I would go with the newer low hour tractor and add to it over time.
1989520HC 13 #14 Posted December 15, 2013 Went to look at the old one tonight. Very nice original tractor. All paperwork for everything. On the fence. This will be to mow with and clean my driveway in the winter. so pretty much year round.
953 nut 60,067 #15 Posted December 15, 2013 Get both of them! The low hours can't be passed up at that price, but a cab, vac system and blower alone are worth the money. When you get them
1989520HC 13 #16 Posted December 15, 2013 I love old W/H but I have a 40x60 pole barn full of **** I LOVE. I want to make a good decision because I will have one of them a long time. Back when I was about 21-22. I had a my first W/H. It was a 756? maybe. It was a 7 h.p. Kohler with a pull start. It was hard as hell to start. I would put a heater in front of the motor before I tried to start it. That thing would push snow like crazy. I wish I could get that old tractor back.... Jrblanke 918 #17 Posted December 15, 2013 I think I would work a little OT and get both, then go through the 40x60 and pick out some stuff to sell (that more than likely I would have forgotten about anyway) in order to make room for the new toys. Sounds like you can't go wrong with either one. If you HAD to choose, I would say to go with the lower hour, newer tractor simply. I would be sad to walk away from the older tractor just because of all the accessories. I am a BIG fan of buying groups of stuff at a good price so I can sell some of the items to off set the cost.
