Ken B 3,189 #26 Posted December 14, 2013 Very nice Glenn! I agree with Forrest, you now own what is probably the most bullet proof and most reliable tractors Wheel Horse ever made. The tractor and thrower are in very similar condition, looks to be a perfect match.
JackC 617 #27 Posted December 14, 2013 Based on all the smiles and congrats here about your new arrival, seems like you should be passing out cigars. Only difference is you will be changing oil instead of diapers.
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,499 #28 Posted December 14, 2013 Thanks for all the great comments fellas. They are much appreciated in that making me feel I made good decisions on both pieces. After all money doesn't grow on trees. A off topic question. I would like to sand down some rusted spots where paint is missing. What color would match closest? I just want to do preventive maintenance. Also. The rubber pads where your feet rest. I would like to replace them to. One is worn pretty good. Do you gentleman have leads where to get those items? Once again I must comment how great / help full everyone is. A super group to be sure. Glenn

papaglide 542 #33 Posted December 15, 2013 Very nice Glenn. You found an awesome tractor. The only thing to watch out for is the fact that these tractors have a way of multiplying...before you know it you'll have 3-4, maybe more of these guys!

truckin88 104 #35 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Congrats! Great machine, was is goshen right? He was asking a fair price too. Was thinking bout snatching that one up myself just to busy at work after the derailment. There are no better machines than an 8 speed big block kohler...sorry 520 owners, these machines are bullet proof! ericj 1,579 #36 Posted December 16, 2013 i have a 2 stage blower on my 95 520-H and yea it's a heavy sob, but i will out throw any of my neighbors walk behind blowers in just about any condition. we had about 3" inches of snow yesterday before it turned to rain and shrunk down to 1 1/2 to 2" with a ice crust on top. it went through it like a hot knife through butter. there ain't no way i will ever be with out one if i can help it. that's just my 2 cents worth eric j

I was looking at some way way nicer looking units. One was a 312 the other was a 314. I allways liked the 416 and a sweet one got away. I opted for more horsepower. I can only imagine the 520, beastly with power to spare. Maybe in the future, I sure have the wheel horse itch. Glenn
JackC 617 #39 Posted December 16, 2013 This is my $600 steal from earlier this year. It even came with cast iron wheel weights and a nice 48 inch SD deck The blower did not work and the PO just wanted it gone. It was listed on Craigslist with no pictures for $500 and I called and said I would pay $600 just to avoid losing it to someone else. Turned out to be a small stone stuck in the second stage impeller. It needs a carb cleaning (I have a new carb for it) and a PTO friction disk before I turn it loose.
