Grader blade: what is this?

Recommended Posts

Dr.Clank

A guy here has this for sale along with some other vintage attachments. He's even offering a sickle-bar mower! I'm more concerned with this grader blade though. As far as I can tell all of the grader blades (both mid and rear mount) fit all the tractors except for the D-series. Is that correct? This looks like an mid-hitch old 40" model. Will this fit my 400-series tractors? Presumably there should be some kind of lever to control the angle.... is it missing or maybe just not in the pictures? In order for this to be considered 'complete' (i.e. I don't have to add anything to make it work) what should be included? Thanks in advance!

Looks just like the mid mount grader blade that came with my 1055 (1965). It did not come with angle lever like the newer ones do. I have used it on a 312-8 and presume it would also work for the 400 series. These are great on gravel driveways and for filling ditches, I love mine.

This looks like a 1968  model # 7-1111 and looks like it is only missing the lift rod / bar.  To angle the blade, reach under the tractor, pull the big clevis pin, angle the balde where wanted, then reset the pin.  This should hang in the mid-mount tachomatic of the 300 400 500 series tractors, and most any other Wheelhorse with a similar mid-hitch point.  I have one of these years ago, but never used it.

Just for info, my home made blade will fit my 704, C-160 and my C-145 without changing a thing so buy it with no worries
