I tell them it's a wheel horse 875, and they ask me for the model number under the seat. guess what, no model number under the seat. I need the size and type of drive belt. no mower or blower. thanks
Brrly1 1,146 #2 Posted December 10, 2013 The belt # you are looking for is #8005 which is a Wheel Horse belt. I am not sure on the model # but I am sure someone will step in with that info. Only reason I know this is because I have had a couple of them. If you look on ebay, you should be able to find one with no problem. If not pm me I have an extra
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,489 #3 Posted December 10, 2013 Had Wheel Horse used decals under the seat back in 1965 your 875 model number is what would have been printed on it. Here is the operator manual and illustrated parts list. The belt listed is number 6146 which has been replaced by number 8005. Dimensions listed are 1/2" x 72". Gates replacement is 6872 and the same belt from Napa 4L720W. Best to get an original Toro belt if you can. Garry
MalMac 1,332 #4 Posted December 10, 2013 Parts tech can't understand you because he/she has no clue about the older tractors. There is another perfect example of a Dealership not knowing squat. Boy Toro did good things for Wheel Horse but when they decided to drop the Wheel Horse line they also dropped service and caring. Go in now and they give you the deer in the headlights look. Wheel Horse what's that? My apology to the few remaining good Toro dealers still out there. Just very few of you left.
greatlakespirate 1 #5 Posted December 11, 2013 Thanks for all the great information. I finally realized why the belt was so loose when I traded out thr motors yesterday. some previous owner switched the drive pullys. so I spent the afternoon, close to two hours on each motor, pulling off and swapping the drive pullies. harbor freight pulley pullers, worthless, BIG hammer, and even bigger pry bar, priceless. todays job accomplished, tomorrow, attempt to replace the throttle cable. anyone out there no what the correct carb settings should be? oh yeah, almost forgot, I was able to plow with it tonight, but it moved alot slower than before, wonder whats up with that? again, thanks for the help. Fordiesel69 271 #6 Posted December 11, 2013 The model plate is under the dash if seated on the tractor. I have this tractor and had to get that info as well to get the transmission slider plate.
