pezsox 31 #1 Posted December 8, 2013 can you paint the flywheel in a RJ 58 - Kohler K91 engine?
Fun Engineer 859 #2 Posted December 8, 2013 I sandblasted mine and painted it with a paint that looks like raw casting. Looks like it just came out of the foundry with no rust.

pacer 3,177 #5 Posted December 8, 2013 I also sandblasted mine since it - and everything on the tractor - was heavily rusted. When I have badly rusted items like these I use Phosphoric acid liberally to stop the rusting action. On the flywheel since it wasnt going to be painted, I coated it with oil - as any other part not painted - and on the heavy cast iron of the flywheel, the oil made it turn a nice black finish, was really a pleasant surprise - pretty cool!
