Recommended Posts

ok I haven't hooked up anything yet but I have the really funky bent angle arm which is for the 520h is there a way I can get away to use with this or not, this would go on my 73 12-8spd.

Are you talking about the snow/dozer blade? I'm assuming you're talking about the arm that adjusts the blade angle if so... You can use that on a non 520h just fine I would think, it's angled to avoid the PTO on the 520... you might have to reach a little further but that would be all.

I have a non 520 handle I would be willing to trade for the 520 one ;)

I have encountered the problem with the angle lever hitting the PTO on my 520 also.  Can someone post a photo of how that lever is supposed to look on a 520, please?

yes this for my snow/dozer blade, so really it would be more bent outward than anything correct?

I just uploaded pictures of plow lever on 520, no angle, right & left angle to my gallery.

Left angle to big to post here (?).

Thanks for the pics, Three Horses!  Could you post one from standing in front of the 520?  I am not sure if there is outward curve to the angle lever.  When looking at the plow manual, it shows four changes in direction for this lever, while your photo appears to only have two bends/direction changes.  You know what they say, "a picture is worth a 1000 words"!

The 520H lever does not angle out away from the tractor, just angles back like in the pictures.

The lever for the blade I have on my 312-8 comes up straight then makes a 90 degree turn for out for approximately 1 1/2 to 2" then makes a 90 degree turn straight up. There is no angle toward the front or back.

After seeing your photos, Three Horses, I realized I have the wrong lever for 520 application.  I was all set to do some cutting and welding of the lever to get the necessary clearance for the PTO.  Then I thought of a simpler fix which would allow me to maintain the integrity of the lever for future use.  I made a bracket which attaches to the lever in the hole where the angle rod hooks up. The bracket allows connection of the angle rod at a different location to allow adequate clearance of the lever and PTO.  (All made from scraps, so that explains the extra holes, I'll fix them later!)

Photos show the lever in each of the three available positions.

The arm with the front to back bend is for the plow with the extension on the rear for 520's with a forward swept front axle.

It needs to move the handle further back so you can reach it from the seat, and it will fit inside the cab.

The arm with the side to side bend is for standard length plows on 300/400/500 series tractors.

The bend keeps it from hitting the PTO
