GT1100 WorkHorse Snow Plow Issues

Recommended Posts

So winter is here and I went out to the garage to put the plow on the tractor for the first time, and of course it don't fit!!!! :banghead:  It mounts to the rear axel with two cam lock sorta antler thingy's, measures out to about 65 and 34 inches in overall length. I got it to mount to the axel but the control arm won't clear the footrest, and it looks like my brake and the drive pully won't clear the plow frame, also when i manually angled the plow there is not enough clearance for the front tires and it hangs up, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!  :banana-dance:  :eusa-clap:     Happy Holiday's to everyone here at Red Square!!!! :occasion-santa:

Here is the manual for the 06-42BC02 blade sold at the time.

IPL

Notice on the cover there are 2 sets of holes for the rear crossbar. With this feature the blade will fit both short and long frame tractors. Your's is a long frame.

Sounds like your rear hitch may be mounted wrong.

On my plow there is only the rear crossbar, no extra set of holes, and the crossbar is welded in place.

I just read on the Toro parts finder site that there were several plows for this tractor, it says current model available is 06-42ST04, 06-48BC03 / 79364 ( 79364 requires Adapter kit 1051501) I'm am wondering if maybe i need an adapter kit? Can anyone tell me the differance in the three plows? or maybe shine some light on this adapter kit? Thanks guy's!!!!

sounds like you have a short frame plow. they are about a foot shorter and the angle arm doesn't have to clear the running boards.

Ok so i guess my next question is, can i make a short frame work by doing some fab work or should i just try to find a different plow for it? I work at a machine shop and have access to saws, welders, torches ext.....

I would look at some other post. they have pictures of the bend in the angle arm to clear the running boards and a ext they make for some newer tractors. you would need to add about a foot in length and fab a arm with a bend. also will need to change lift point. chain might work.
