wheeledhorseman 579 #26 Posted November 28, 2013 Having attended both ‘round ups’ I would make the observation that the Ardingly Show at the South of England Showground had both pluses and minuses. Pluses included lots to see and a good range of stalls with interesting and useful things to haggle over. The big minus, for me at least has to be its geographic location. Last year we crawled bumper to bumper round the M25 to get there on the Friday but getting home on the Sunday wasn’t too bad as the weather was bad and so everyone left during the afternoon. This year getting there was marginally better but getting home on the Sunday was a mare!! We crawled bumper to bumper from soon after the showground all the way to the M23 then the same for the M23 all the way to the M25 which was then start stop all the way to the M3, only then did it clear a bit. It was great to have a ‘meet’ and I look forward to getting to something again next year preferably avoiding the M25 (South). I’m hoping to get to a show up Mark’s way with the A-800 in the back and caravan behind, other commitments permitting. Somerset is a possibility and certainly no more difficult for me to get to than Ardingly. There’s Netley Marsh, a reasonable sized show near me – the possibilities are endless and an offer I made a year or more ago of a weekend in the New Forest (we have a field ideal for camping) still stands but of course there’d be no stalls or other attractions. pmackellow 12 #28 Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) Just sent entry forms to all Vintage Vehicle show 2013 entrants off this evening, I am trying to gauge how much interest there is in the show, all Wheelhorses welcome but it seems the official roundup will be oop North next year...
