856 Locked-up

Motor Head110

On Saturday, I was riding around on my 856 when it ran out of gas. When i fueled it up, i started it in second gear(with the clutch in) and started it. I let off the clutch and the tractor stalled. Then, i realized the rear end wouldnt move. i have put it on jackstands, took the belt off and tried to turn the wheels. They didnt turn. Im stumped. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with this?

Most likely frozen because of water in it. Heat the trans that should help it move. Or you are stuck between two gears.

1st thing I would check is the brake band and lining....or pull the shifter and make sure the shift forks are aligned correctly..make sure it didnt get stuck between gears...with the shifter out and in neutral you should see a square were the shifter ball rides...

well, right after I wrote this question, i decided to go out and tinker with it. i found and fixed the problem. the bolt holding the shifter in had come undone and the shifter was stuck between gears.

Thanks anyways guys!
