D-200 Gas Tank

Recommended Posts

Jacksonbros

A couple of months ago, I bought a D-200 that I knew had a hole in the gas tank. It was pretty rusty inside. I finally got around to patching the hole and was going to start the process of using apple cider vinegar to clean the rust. I put a little vinegar in it and 30 minutes later, the vinegar was on the garage floor and then I counted 21 very small holes in the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know of a way to repair this or would it be better to buy another tank? Does anyone have one for sale?

There are a few "liner" products out there....YouTube has lots of videos using different products...motorcycle restorers use tank liners frequently....  Por 15 has a product.....

Just as Bob mentioned, I have used the fuel tank sealer in a motorcycle tank with very good results.  My leak was the seam in the bottom edge on one side.  Worked for at least two years before I got rid of the bike.  As to weather it would work on a tank that thin in so many places your guess is as good as mine.
