stevebo-(Moderator) 8,059 #1 Posted November 19, 2013 I have my cousin's no name 3 speed 8 hp square hood with the brake/clutch set up. The belt on it is a newer gates that measures about 82 in which is correct but seems a little short. The problem I have having trying to adjust the brake/clutch set up is when you push the brake too far I hear a noise that almost sounds like metal to metal? I tried an 83 inch belt from TSC and the noise went away however the belt was slipping and a tad too long. The tranny idler pulley was replaced and measures 4 inches across. Can anyone help me with this situation? I would like to get this tractor set up for my cousin's son "Jack bo".... Thanks !s

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,059 #4 Posted November 19, 2013 The tractor stops fine just when you let out the clutch a little fast or press it too hard there is a noise that is almost like metal to metal. Kinda like when it is pushed too far down it starts to operate in reverse and actually makes it try to move again. I had this issue on my old Case 210 but not sure if it was ever fixed proper.
