W/H JUNKY 43 #1 Posted November 13, 2013 Hey All Do you guys use high temp paint for the engines when restoring them. Or will the normal raddle can paint work?
rmaynard 16,363 #2 Posted November 13, 2013 I paint my engines with the same paint as the rest of the tractor. The only part of the engine that gets hot enough to effect the paint is the area around the exhaust, and that will eventually turn dark even with high-temp engine paint.
i967mustang 21 #3 Posted November 13, 2013 I used base coat/ clear coat on my C150 and painted the engine the same way. As mentioned above the only place that the paint burned off was right where the exhaust comes out. This even took awhile to burn off, I have had it painted for four years now.
