Push blade snow plow about 40"-50" for 1989 312-8

Living in central Ontario I have found few Wheel Horse snow plows, but looking at ATV type plows, there are  more.  Can anybody lead me to a compatible plow assembly that would work with the 312-8.  Can be simple, or hydraulic, even with a winch.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance

I don't know about compatabilty of ATV plows, but if you're handy and have the tools, you should be able to adapt something fairly easy.

I used a Deere blade that was given to me, and made my own frame by copying what I've seen of the Wheel Horse ones. Mine was cheap too - I've only got about 50 bucks in it.

As a multi trade tradesman including welding, electrician, pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC I understand the building of things, but now retired all my equipment except automobile servicing has been sold.  To weld or fabricate now requires a few tools.  The know how is there but if a near fit with another brand is possible...

Thanks for the reply.

I have been looking all over Canada East to west and Wheel Horse things seem not to be in great supply and pricing for 8-16 HP units is all over the place.  On the rare occasion a tractor/plow come up but distance to get it is 5-10 hours return.

Maybe when the winter rush is over, plows may be more plentiful.

Thank you

Check the Buffalo cl, I've seen some on there for sale. I know it's a couple hour ride for you but you may find one reasonable.

I picked up a polaris galcier2 plow with winch for 25 bucks craigs list or ebay "cant remeber" and the mount system turned out to use the same rod size as the tach o matic, I was actually able to just pull up to it and it snaped right in. The only thing I can say is the atv plows are not built nothing like the wheelhorse plows and they can not take to much beating, Good luck and let us know what you find. I am about an hour from you and will see if anyone i know has any direct fits.

Speaking from experience, I would be very hesitant to endorse any kind of ATV plow if you're serious about using it. I used to have a quad at the ex mudder in laws with a plow and that thing was made from about 22 gauge metal on the moldboard and about 3/4 inch thin wall tubing as a frame. It definitely wasn't robust. The 56" plow on my 18 auto and the 42" on my Charger 12 are serious metal and take some abuse. I used my 18 auto to grade and level 10 Triaxles (300 tons) of modified this past summer for a neighbors drive. I wouldn't even think about trying that with an ATV plow….

300 Tons! - you know what they say, if you didn't document it with a video then it didnt happen!  HaHa

I bet the dump truck drivers showed up with the rock and giggled at the 18 auto sitting there waiting to go to work.  Seriously, before and after pics would have been great.
