That could be a very late 63 or early 64. I see the belt driving the trans. According to the Cub Cadet site they didn't make an 8 H.P. model. Maybe a swap was done at some point. Look for a serial number stamped into the right side {as your sitting on it) trans case.

Looks to be a black hood model - :ychain:

Seriously, looks like a real solid workhorse. Best of luck with it.

That engine is an 80's model so not original.

Thank you everyone and thanks mark for info on the engine even though the engine may not be original and the bonnet needs to be painted the correct colours again, it's still a pretty good working tractor and hopefully will end up a show piece,

I have 6 of the same model.  It was made from 60-63.  Its a nice little machine.  The engine has been replaced at some point as they came with a 7hp with a starter/generator.  That was the first model they made.  Before you drive it too much I'd check the frame where it bolts to the rear because they would crack on the bottom corners.  Hope this helps.             Stewart

Nice score Charlie, i saw that one on  Ebay & im glad you got it .

Its a real nice tractor . Paul Mckellow & Chris Sutton both have Cub Cadet garden tractors , not  sure that they own the same model as yours.

I would guess that your one is very rare to UK as i have not seen too many around ,

I sure its gonna look amazing when you have done it ., but dont forget that you are a wheelhorse man at heart :teasing-poke::thumbs:

I like to seat on it .

Of course Neil, it's all about wheel horses, this is just a little fun project on the side, my addiction for wheel horses will never End! Still on the look out to start a collection.. Hoping to find one in the new year, as I'm going to build a new workshop/stable in the spring!

Hi Charlie, yes Neil is correct, Chris Sutton and I are the proud owners of a model 100 each, thats the 10hp Kohler engine version

I think they are unusual in the UK I only know of a handful of others about over here

Good luck with the restoration
