:WRS:  No belts don't normally break if it is the correct belt and if it is installed properly.  Can you give more details.  What is the belt driving ? :wwp:

Do the blades spin free when the mule drive is loosened?  Does the belt rub the deck pulley guard or any thing else with the deck raised and lowered? Is the belt on the mule drive correctly?

:text-yeahthat:   :WRS:   As has been stated, mule drive or deck bearings or the guard on the muel

drive rubbing would be places to look. Also, are you using a fractional horse power belt such as an A-100. A previous owner may have used an automotive fan belt that fit, but they are no good for this application.

Good luck and keep us posted.    :text-welcomeconfetti:

Dean, check  all the pulleys for broken pieces and obstructions at the bottom of the VEE. I have found clumps of dried grass and grease down in the deck drive pulley that causes I/rev tensioning and release of the belt.
