Horse Play 393 #1 Posted November 6, 2013 A guy at work is selling this and I don't know much about implements, but I thought this would look great restored on my tractor. Any idea when these were offered and is something like this hard to come by or desirable? What would be a fair price for something like this? Thanks for any help! CasualObserver 3,411 #2 Posted November 6, 2013 Yes, it's the AC-7... or 7-1711... same model, different years, they just changed the naming convention. Production was in the 60s... started with 1961, don't know if it carried into the 70s. Value.... depends. It's a Brinly cultivator, that was made for Wheel Horse. I've bought ones (different models) for $10 and 75, and I've seen them sold for $150. Look at what other Brinly Cultivators in your area go for, and make your deal. As long as both of you are happy, it's a good price.
KC9KAS 4,744 #3 Posted November 7, 2013 Just got a Brinly cultivator given to me with a Brinly plow that I bought.
brandonozz 168 #4 Posted November 7, 2013 Around here most sellers ask $75 to $100 but most are bought for $75 or less. I would think if you can get it for $50 or less you did pretty good.
sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted November 7, 2013 I think I paid around $50 for mine (off ebay). Mine is the Brinly badged Brinly
SousaKerry 503 #6 Posted November 7, 2013 I pulled one out of my Dad's scrap pile years ago missing a few pieces but still in Briney white. I have used it a few times works in loose soil, won't do a thing in sod
Horse Play 393 #7 Posted November 8, 2013 Thanks for the help, guys! I'm debating on picking it up - not because of the money but it taking up garage space. I take it the "WH labeled" Brinley equipment was still painted white?
CasualObserver 3,411 #8 Posted November 8, 2013 If you're worried about space, the wings fold flush against the main beam, and if you knock out the wedge locks you can store the tines all in a bundle. Typically if an attachment was given a Wheel Horse model number it was painted red. If not, it was painted whatever the typical manufacturer color was.
