On the SN plate (left hand side) should be model number. Example: L-156...5 is electric start/0 is manual start, 6 is year - 1966

At least that is way mine is.

Show us a picture and we can narrow it down for you.  my 65,66 and 67's have model #s on an ID tag.  my 64 has just a serial #.  a seasoned lawn ranger goo-roo can pretty much tell just looking at one .

Well "fourwheels" I hope you get it. Lawn rangers are my favorite model and here are a couple pics of my lawn rangers.  The first pic is my '64 with the full length hood and clam shell style rear fenders.  The second pic is a '67 model.  thats pretty much what they look like 1965 thru 1968.note the one piece rear fender pan.

The 1962-63 have the clam shell fenders in the rear and a hood that wraps around the top mounted gas tank.  I don't own any 62's or 63's,but maybe someone could post a pic for us.

I hope that helps a little.

terry m your 67 looks identical to the one i'm looking at mowing deck, steering wheel and all.

will a kohler bolt right in? i'm not a big fan of tecky's. besides it may not run lol.

from the 1 pic i saw it looks all original and untouched.

The 65-68 had 6 HP Tecs, so I would think you would have to find a small Kohler to fit in there. I know the 8HP K181 in my JD would be too big without major modifications.

If it's like Terrys 67 then tag will be on the side as mentioned before.

I don't believe a kohler will bolt right in.  But i've been told more than once that some kohlers's up to a 8 hp is possible with some small modifications.  but I don't know all what it would take.  I know of a couple members that have done it.  maybe they'll read this and chime on in.

A Kohler will fit but you will have to do some modifiying for the gast tank to be able to fit.
