chip61 665 #1 Posted October 29, 2013 Will the hub from a 312-8 fit my C160? The hub on the 160 is loose and keyway is torn up. I have access to a 312-8 parts tractor but I'm not sure they have the same axle diameter. The parts tractor is 90 miles away. Thanks Chip
doc724 925 #2 Posted October 29, 2013 I believe it will fit. Both are 1 1/8 inch axles. Check to make sure the keyway in the shaft is OK. When you install the hub, buy a new key and a new set screw and use plenty of never sieze on the axle.
baerpath 517 #3 Posted October 29, 2013 Take the hub down and have a new keyway put in it. Cheaper than driving 180 miles. Local shop does them for me
groundhog47 347 #4 Posted October 29, 2013 Not knowing your yr searching Toro the C-160 77 has axel 105875 also used on one year of 312-8, the hub on a C-160 77 lists as 105763-03 and is used on 97-2001 312-8 if that helps any.
richmondred01 2,307 #5 Posted October 29, 2013 Chip, I'm pretty sure I have one off a 300 or 400 series. Let me check and I will pm you.
chip61 665 #6 Posted October 30, 2013 Thanks for the replies! If you have one off a 300 or 400 that will save me trying to get the hub off that 312-8. It's been outside for years!
baerpath 517 #7 Posted October 30, 2013 Check axle size first, most 312's had 1 inch axles amd C160's used 1 1/8 axles.
