clem 28 #1 Posted October 28, 2013 My 417A has always had a single lung 16hp kohler since I've owned it. I have a KT17 that's going on it & the 16hp will go back home to the C160. Now I'm looking for the correct throttle/choke cable installation for the 417A. The pics that I've found don't show the cable routing or attaching to the carb, only mounting to the dash. It appears that some pieces may be missing, so I need to find out what to look for.
jackhammer 550 #2 Posted November 2, 2013 Hi there, You might try looking at the pic. I have bought this back in Aug. and I haven't had time to see if I can get it to fire. It doesn't look like a jerry rig set up so maybe you can compare this to what you have or need Good luck Rick
clem 28 #3 Posted November 2, 2013 Thank You. My replacement kt17 is from '84 and has a 1" crankshaft also, so I knew it wasn't on a wh originally. I thought the throttle/choke cable setup looked like it needed to be different than a stock setup. I made some changes & got it together for a test yesterday. Even with the weak rear lung it never laid over once, although it did about choke me out using close to half its oil. The engine was donated to my project so I can afford to freshen it up & hopefully get some time out of it!
