sorekiwi 761 #1 Posted October 26, 2013 I feel stupid asking this because I used to know the answer - but then I forgot. I've seen a couple of 300 Series tractors that have a 1/4" wheel spacer fitted on one rear wheel only. I don't remember the reason for it, I'm suspecting its for clearance to fit a snow-blade on an Eaton equipped machine?
Sparky-(Admin) 23,166 #2 Posted October 26, 2013 Hmmm....I've had three Eaton 1100 equipt WH's here (416-H, 418-A and C-125 auto) and I never had any snowplow frame clearance issues. Very interested to see what the real story is . Mike...........
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #3 Posted October 27, 2013 While re-doing my 312A (Eaton 7) to use lug nuts, I found a spacer between the wheel and hub on the left (?) side. I actually left it off as the wheels were centered without it. I'm curious as well.
sorekiwi 761 #4 Posted October 27, 2013 I do remember that the first time I came across a spacer was on a 312A that I parted out. I am fairly sure that it was the left side that the spacer was on.
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted October 27, 2013 I thought it was for chain clearance to the blade or trans, not sure but I do know there is a reason.
squonk 43,843 #6 Posted October 27, 2013 I don't know why one spacer only would be needed but, I had to put a spacer on each side of my C-125 to use 10.50 rears with chains to clear the gas tank.
