CasualObserver 3,411 #9 Posted October 26, 2013 I count 13 at least partial Wheel Horses, including a roundhood on the edge of that one picture. Should be a fun sale for anyone close enough. Good luck to those who can make it. Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk

rustyoldjunk 127 #16 Posted October 26, 2013 Is the first one in the the first pic a hard to find 1045 ?
Hammerhead 817 #17 Posted October 27, 2013 Yes I went and had a good time. It took all day long to get to the garden tractors! I got there at 10:00 am and the tractors finally sold around 3:00pm. What a long day out in the cold windy boonsticks! It was a loading nightmare due to the muddy conditions and steep hills! This stuff was in the hills and hollors(spelling?). They all went for pretty cheap prices luckily, the people cleared out before they got around to the garden tractors way up on top of a hill. I got the old raggedy 1045 for a measely $85.00! I scrounged through a large pile of mower decks and found the original deck for it too, I got it for $20.00. I was saving a wad of cash for a descent WH side mounted sickle bar mower and bid it up to $200.00 and I gave up at that point. The other guy got it for $210.00, dang it! I'll post some pics later tonight.
BOWTIE 226 #18 Posted October 27, 2013 YEAH, I HATE IT WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT ALL DAY FOR WHAT YOUR INTERSTED IN. IT IS EVEN WORSE WHEN IT IS COLD. HOW MANY BIDDERS WERE THERE? DID YOU BUY ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THEN WHEEL HORSE TRACTORS AND PARTS? BOWTIE
boovuc 1,090 #19 Posted October 27, 2013 You did real well Hammerhead. Did your 20 bucks on the deck include free moving spindles from the get-go? Regardless.........that was a great price for most of the stuff overall.
Hammerhead 817 #20 Posted October 28, 2013 YEAH, I HATE IT WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT ALL DAY FOR WHAT YOUR INTERSTED IN. IT IS EVEN WORSE WHEN IT IS COLD. HOW MANY BIDDERS WERE THERE? DID YOU BUY ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THEN WHEEL HORSE TRACTORS AND PARTS? BOWTIE There was less than 75 bidders most of the day but some left early after they won what they wanted. By the time the garden tractors came up for bidding, only about 6 or 7 garden tractor guys were bidding on that stuff which kept the prices down some. I did bid on a cool old Zephyr car creeper and they threw in some bottle jacks, a 55 gallon drum pump that was cool. I only wanted the creeper but bought the other junk for the heck of it. The whole pile went for $15.00 which was a good price. I have a small collection of old car creepers that I started up a few years ago. I only have about 7 or 8 of them but they are cool and fun to look at side by side. Glad you posted that auction, I owe you one! You are pretty close to where I live, we could get together some time to check out some WH stuff! State Route 605 runs from Gahanna right up north to about a mile from my house. Hammerhead 817 #21 Posted October 28, 2013 You did real well Hammerhead. Did your 20 bucks on the deck include free moving spindles from the get-go? Regardless.........that was a great price for most of the stuff overall. Yep, the $20 included some free moving spindles that were really nice and smooth spinning! This tractor and most of the others seemed to have been running when they were parked so I think I can get it running without too much trouble. I worked on it today for a couple of hours. Looks a lot better now.
