Hammerhead 817 #1 Posted October 26, 2013 I put a set of duals on my RJ58 project tractor. Also jacked it down in the front with a set of smaller bar lugs. It's got the original 4 hp Kohler on it. I took the small butt type of seat off it for my 1956 RJ35 and the gas tank got sniped off it too. I replaced the seat with the correct type but now I need a gas tank for it. I will have to sand blast and paint this seat and the front rims. Click on the pics for a larger image. Stick it back in the shed until next time....KJ

Wheel Horse Kid 105 #7 Posted October 26, 2013 Looks nice! Planning to put duals on my 401. Always liked duals on the little round hoods!

victor3ranger 11 #9 Posted October 31, 2013 I want to do this with my 551. Where did you get the dual kit?? I still need to find another set of rear wheels which I have no idea where to get, I also need to get new front wheels since the one I am working on has rusted out front wheels. AMC RULES 37,196 #10 Posted October 31, 2013 I think I saw a set of 6-12 rims listed on ebay this week.
victor3ranger 11 #11 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) Ok, so if I look for 6-12 wheels that is what came on these for the rear?? What would the fronts be? Edited November 1, 2013 by victor3ranger
dparke 16 #12 Posted October 31, 2013 What would the fronts be? Ditto, I'm in need of the same info for my RJ. My front wheels are totally rotten. Thanks for any help, experts! -Dan
VinsRJ 723 #13 Posted November 1, 2013 Sorry for the negative... but, duals on a RJ always looked awkward to me. The tractor is just not "beefy" enough... Now a Panzer on the other hand...
victor3ranger 11 #14 Posted November 1, 2013 I just think it is cool to have duals on a tiny tractor

victor3ranger 11 #16 Posted November 1, 2013 What size are those front tires?? How did you mount the duals together??
AMC RULES 37,196 #17 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) What size are those front tires?? How did you mount the duals together?? Fronts are... 4.80 x 4.00 x 8 and you'll need a set of these wheel spacers to attach another set of rear wheels to your tractor. Brrly1 1,146 #18 Posted November 3, 2013 Craig, whats the width on your spacers?
shorts 182 #19 Posted November 3, 2013 I made my dually spacers out of 1/4 x 1 1/2 flat stock, just a ring to fit just inside the outer flange on the wheels and then some 1/2'' carriage bolts to fit , just like the duals on a dump truck with "Dayton" spoke wheels. squonk 43,844 #24 Posted November 4, 2013 I would need duals on an RJ. To keep from tipping it over with my big Horse frame!
victor3ranger 11 #25 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Has anyone here used the donut type adapter?? How well do they work? Also, another question about the rear wheels and tires. Are the rear tires 6-12?? and the rear wheels 6-12?? Edited November 4, 2013 by victor3ranger
