MalMac 1,332 #1 Posted October 25, 2013 How are you suppose to get tractors ready for snow duty when you have grass to cut yet. Are grass is the greenest it's been all year and growing like crazy. I can't mow because we keep getting rain and Snow! The leaves are not even all down yet. Went to mow the other day and the ground had this white stuff all over it. We keep getting snow, Guess I will be out there to see what that 48" deck can blow off the drive. Crazy weather.
Hydro 131 #2 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) We had snow yesterday too, quite a bit in some areas around us, as much as 6 inches and I still have leaves to mulch and grass to cut but it is the time of the year even if our winters are changing. Almost time to change the Avatar Edited October 25, 2013 by Hydro
dclarke 4,082 #3 Posted October 25, 2013 We had a flurry or two here yesterday. This weather is crazy, I haven't even started on the leaves yet.
boovuc 1,090 #4 Posted October 25, 2013 I know where your coming from MalMac. It looks like the toggle switch has been thrown though. We went from summer to early winter in Central PA. No snow put most of the trees on the valley floors have 60% of their leafs, the grass is green and the air now is cold! I'll be mulching leafs this weekend then changing oil. I just need to mount the plow yet on the 310. This will give me the loader on the 520, the blower on the C175 and the plow. And I wouldn't care if they never get used from now to April!
WH nut 553 #5 Posted October 25, 2013 The easiest answer is to have more than one tractor!
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #6 Posted October 25, 2013 The easiest answer is to have more than one tractor! Got to have at least two. Three or four is ideal.
mowerman1193 42 #7 Posted October 25, 2013 Yeah I know what you mean! I was really hoping for a warmer fall so I could get my John Deere steering gearbox changed before winter. Looks like I will be relying on one lonely Wheel Horse this year. Four tractors and only one working..of coarse that one is a Wheel horse so that is a good thing.. Sure like that John Deere hydrolics on the 140-H3 when it is working good but man if you need to do any repairs to these things you have to take the whole tractor apart just to get to the part that needs work, LOL I might just have to trade up to another Wheel Horse, LOL Kevin
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #8 Posted October 25, 2013 The weather is crazy for sure! Looked at the weather and for us, it is supposed to get back up into the 50's low 60's in the next week or 2! Thankfully, have not had any snow on the ground yet so that is good.
