ckarnes 2 #1 Posted October 22, 2013 recently we just bought a 91 520-H. when we bought it everything worked but the tach which would be no big deal to me but when I got done pressure washing it and fired it up the tach worked perfect so I thought great it was a lose wire but when it dried out back to square on with no tach does anyone have any idea what the water could have done to fix it and what I could do to fix it for good because now I am confused
Martin 2,133 #2 Posted October 22, 2013 i would check for loose connections at the back of the tach and down at the rectifier/regulator where it gets its signal from. water probably bridged an open circuit and made it work temporarily. not sure what color wire it would be, but it connects with one of the stator wires (outside terminals) of the regulator/rectifier.
