Mr. 856 170 #1 Posted October 22, 2013 well once again the manual doesn't really show how the clutch spring attaches to the frame. there is a cotter pin on one end of my spring. that goes through a hole on the frame? other end attaches to clutch pedal and is kept in place my pulley link arm then a cotter pin? if anybody has some pictures id really appreciate it. almost have a roller. unless something out of my control happens the 856 will be back in action after a 2 year vaca and a much needed overhaul. I cant wait to blow snow with it for the first time.
jrc0528 20 #2 Posted October 22, 2013 Should be similar to my 1055's setup. To be clear are you referring to the PTO clutch or the drive belt clutch? The drive clutch spring (also brake spring if it's a combo pedal on the left) hooks into the webbing above the axle. The PTO clutch spring hooks into a hole in the frame way back just in front of where the belt guard drops below the bottom of the frame.
rmaynard 16,299 #3 Posted October 22, 2013 Actually, the spring hooks to a large cotter pin that goes through the hole in the frame, and then the other end hooks to another cotter pin that goes through the shaft of the PTO pedal lock.
