gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,493 #2 Posted October 18, 2013 There are 7 different models of 211-5. Go to https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro and do a search for 211-5 and they will all come up. Hopefully from there you can identify exactly what you have. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,493 #4 Posted October 18, 2013 The ID decal was usually on the rear fender pan under the seat but some had them between the seat and the shifter. Post all the numbers you find on the engine's decal. That may tell us when B&S built the engine. Garry
BretzFamily 1 #5 Posted October 18, 2013 The dang tag is always blank when i get them. rubbed off the briggs model is 253707 type 0158 01 code 86042510
SousaKerry 503 #6 Posted October 18, 2013 211-5 is not a real popular model around here, because of the vertical shaft. However they did make tons of the darn things so finding used parts should not be too difficult. The Work Horse series that preceded them are nearly identical and most parts will interchange. Work Horse models were LT-1100, and LT-1137. Not sure form your pictures which part you actually need but I may have something in my junk bins that will fit if you need it. Ebay will have plenty of parts for these tractors as they aren't worth much except for the parts.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,493 #7 Posted October 18, 2013 The dang tag is always blank when i get them. rubbed off the briggs model is 253707 type 0158 01 code 86042510 The 86042510 tells us B&S made the engine on April 25th, 1986 so the tractor is a 1986 or 1987 model. Go back to Toro and look at the product details. They list the transmission models for each and you should be able to ID the tractor model number from that if you can find the model number on the transmission. They used 3 different transmission models between 1986-1987. Garry
BretzFamily 1 #8 Posted October 18, 2013 The part you see is actually tje engine bolt which goes through and a v pulley connects it. then there is an adjustment which you must move the pulley for the right tauntness. the actually part i need is not pictured its a belt guide. i see vertical shaft horses are not as.popular but in a right.mind like a lot of classic things theore they are shunned now and scrapped the.more they become lucrative later. i completely understand why wheelhorse went a different direction with toro. there vertical shaft line wheelhorse is actually a bad idea. i owned a work horse lt1600 and the pto was terrible as ij setup. if it got to hot it shut off the tractor. i grabbed this for the.simple fact its wheelhorse and it seems to be put.together a lot better then the cheaper work horse. as in parts i will find my model number thanks to qwest and see about a cross reference maybe even oem parts. mostly i need deck parts and all belts. i have complets.deck but.needs. wheels and some paint. agaim what is the paint name and what shade. looking for cheap color. i don't think it would look good with. primer look. Thanks again for all the.info. still looking for implements for my 417a also looking for a tractor project so ajyone have anything in nc cheap cheap let me know. also if i.need something i will let you know. i will send a picture so you could match if you have.in your goodie bin. ha

SousaKerry 503 #10 Posted October 18, 2013 Cheap paint that is a close match is Rustoleum Regal Red, Available in quarts and rattle cans at most places that carry Rustoleum I actually buy mine at Meijer or Walmart. Quarts usually HomeCheapo or Lowes will carry them.
