B-80 question

Recommended Posts

Looking for some advice, I just put a K301 12hp on a B-80 I have, cool thing is went in nice and smooth, plugged right in bolted right up with no mods"love it when that happens". My question is this has the old 3 speed tranny in i and  orginally was the 8hp, do I need to worry about tearing anything up in it or should it be ok. I didnt think this through till I was done.

I don't think you will have any problem.

I've had my B80 about 7 years now and the poor thing has had every spare Kohler that was lying around at the time in it.  Everything from the 8 hp it came with to a 16 hp Kohler.

Its mowed, pushed snow and blown snow.  I changed the oil in the gearbox (4 speed, 1" axles) and put a shifter boot on it the day I got it and haven't touched it since.

Thanks guys, heres the thing. I pulled this motor from the boneyard "grass growing up through it" looked it over quick and threw it in. Everything went so well and it started right up with out even smoking, I figured something just cant be right because nothing works out this good, so now its got me checking everything. Thanks again

Don't sweat it - things go wrong so often that every now again things just have to go right, its just the law of averages!
