Kohler Votage Regulator / Rectifier

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have a GOOD voltage regulator for a Kohler 16 on a C165 Black Hood---I need the little 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" unit that was mounted next to the steering shaft up in the dash. The original cooked and then I put in a good used one (I thought) :banghead: and it charged very nicely for a day... then the next time I started the tractor I got nothing. I did wire in one of the big clunky regulators from another Wheel Horse using alligator clip jumper wires and the charging system works fine. I just don't want to drill any holes or cut the wiring harness in order to retrofit another type regulator..... any help would be appreciated. :omg:

My C165 and I thank you.... :USA:

If you have your original , post up a pic of it and whatever numbers are on the back . I have a local guy here that is a Kohler nut and works at an old shop that has a bunch of the original type regulators on the shelf . He had two for my 1277, original Delco units complete with an inch of dust for $35 each ....

Two different "animals" all together, Sarge.

You're talking about a mechanical voltage regulator for a starter/generator system, and Tony needs a solid-state voltage regulator/rectifier for a 15 amp alternator.

Those of us with the "silent-start" Kohlers will keep you in mind though. :banghead:

By the way..... :USA:

Yes, I know his is solid state , they do have some of that type left in stock . This is one of those rare places that kept a good inventory and never sent it back . Funny part is it's primarily a steel supplier ....

Thanks for the welcome too....
