Friend told me about a horse sitting at abandoned house. I went and looked . Bad shape

Number on it was 1 096 4 . I looked thru Toro consumer .

Can anyone shed some light on what type of horse this is ??

did notice the hydraulic hoses were mounted on the left outside above the foot panel , they were not covered by a guard and seemed stouter than the 175/165  and the 417 that is in the garage.

Lever for seat and it folded to the rear

Had a cable that came out by the hydro in back and a smalller lift deally of some kind

Forgot to list the 16hp kohler

Why don't you go back and take a couple of pictures and re-check that ID number.

When you say "lever for seat" does that mean that the whole seat/fender pan opens to the rear?

The only 16hp Kohler with automatic and a flip seat pan were the 73 Auto, ID 1-0440; the 1974 C-160, ID 1-0480; and the 1975 C-160, ID 1-0481, all of which had hydro hoses that were uncovered above the foot rests.

You're right rmaynard and jwkw07

even without a pic you had it figured. Here's what the correct new numbers show according to wheel horse all years list I have.

tractor number and serial

1 0480 9

1011485

kohler

k 341s

71128a

Little difference on that wheel horse all years list

shows tractor 1974

shows kohler engine 1975

If you can make a deal with the owner pull it out and flip it like it is, Someone here will surely take it on.  Don't let it get made into Chinese bolts and nails.  If anything the parts on it will help someone else keep theirs going strong.

I wasn't going to try a restore but could've used a few parts myself. I don't what to get my hopes up but I've been there four times counting yesterday, haven't seen a soul. I went to ask all the neighbors and I talked to the local police to ask a few questions.

Info passed, a friend of a friend - you know the story and finally contacted owner this morning.

Much to my demise and looks like some other members, owner is going to load up and try to get'r going. Left my name and tele just in case.

So this hasn't been a big bust. At least he knows I'm interested. Thanks all for chiming in.

Thanks, jackhammer

Rick
