asbolger 0 #1 Posted September 30, 2013 I have a 414-8 wheel horse with 48" mower deck that I want to get rid of. It was bought in 1989, engine is gone in it, mower deck is 8 years old and in good condition. I don't have a clue as to what it is worth. Can someone help me? Location is Gloucester, VA. Thanks. daveoman1966 3,841 #2 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) I am in n/w PA, about 80 miles north of Pittsburgh and I have a good Kohler Magnum 14 engine for this 414-8 tractor. In fact, it came from a 414-8 a couple of years ago and has been sitting in my shop since. The working hour meter shows 302 hours. The engine runs good and is complete with the wiring harness, muffler, carb, etc. I am asking only 300 for this engine and here are a couple pics of it. For more pics, go to this photobucket and select Kholer 14 Magnum http://s590.photobucket.com/user/DAVEOMAN/library/?sort=3&page=0#/user/DAVEOMAN/library/?sort=2&page=0&_suid=138055885592005100404422608995 Edited September 30, 2013 by daveoman1966
asbolger 0 #3 Posted September 30, 2013 Thanks Dave but I already bought a new X320 John Deere. I am being offered $200-300 for my wheel horse with deck and just wanted to know if that is a good offer or not. Thanks, Anita
Fordiesel69 271 #4 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) I am not an expert at prices, but 200-300 is too low for a running / working WH. **On edit, I see you said engine is gone. In that case that price would be ok as long as the deck is good. Edited September 30, 2013 by Fordiesel69
Hodge71 665 #5 Posted September 30, 2013 I am not an expert at prices, but 200-300 is too low for a running / working WH. She stated in the first post the the engine blew up. Therfore it neither runs nor works. 200-300 is fine for a machine that needs at least 500 for an engine
DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #6 Posted September 30, 2013 I would say $300 is reasonable given the deck is only 8 years old. They are very expensive new.
Tankman 3,523 #7 Posted October 1, 2013 $300 would be the goin' price here in NE PA. I picked up a '88 414-8 running but needed work. The Horse did have a 42" deck, working.
Forest Road 594 #8 Posted October 1, 2013 The deck alone is worth $300 in NJ. Often times attachments will draw more sold individually. The tractor is $100 to $200 depending on condition and the buyer. Sold as a combo $300 is high up north.
